Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium, if preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  2. Add the salmon cubes to the marinade, gently tossing to ensure all pieces are coated. Allow to marinate for 15-20 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, remove the salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and add the salmon bites to the skillet.
  5. Cook the salmon for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the skillet, working in batches if necessary.
  6. After the salmon is cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
