Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs Savory and Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 0.5 cup honey
- 0.25 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, egg, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the saucepan and gently toss them in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes in the sauce to allow the flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat, and let sit for a minute before serving.
