Honey Mustard Brussels Sprouts Flavorful Side Dish
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 0.25 cup pecans, roughly chopped (optional)
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- as needed Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, whole grain mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
- Add the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts to the bowl and toss them in the honey mustard mixture until evenly coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- If using, sprinkle chopped pecans over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting for added crunch.
- Once done, remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
