Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions (plus more for garnish)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped green onions, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, whisk together the honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  6. Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle the honey Sriracha glaze over the top. Toss them gently to ensure they are well-coated.
  7. Optional: For a caramelized finish, place the glazed meatballs back in the oven under the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Transfer the meatballs to a serving plate, drizzle any remaining glaze on top, and garnish with additional chopped green onions.

💡 Chef's Notes

For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
