Ingredients

  • 2 whole ripe bananas
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 slices thick bread (white, whole wheat, or brioche)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 0 for dusting powdered sugar (optional)
  • 0 for garnish mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Begin by slicing the bananas and hulled strawberries. Set them aside for assembly later.
  2. Toast the Bread: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the slices of bread to the skillet and toast until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Spread the Nutella: Once the bread is toasted, spread a generous layer of Nutella on one side of each slice.
  4. Layer the Fruit: On two of the Nutella-covered slices, evenly distribute the sliced bananas and strawberries. If desired, drizzle honey over the fruit for added sweetness.
  5. Assemble the Sandwich: Top with the remaining slices of bread, Nutella side down, to create a sandwich.
  6. Grill the Sandwich: Place the assembled sandwiches back in the skillet and grill for another 2-3 minutes on each side until the outside is crispy and the Nutella is melty.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and garnish with mint leaves for a pop of color.
