Juicy Steak Bites in Garlic and Herb Butter Delight
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional for extra flavor)
- 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- to taste Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Start by boiling the diced potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- Mash the Potatoes: Add butter, milk, and cheddar cheese to the drained potatoes. Mash until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
- Cook the Steak Bites: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Steak: Once the oil is hot, add the steak bites in a single layer (do this in batches if necessary). Sear for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove from the skillet.
- Make Garlic Herb Butter: In the same skillet, lower the heat and add butter. Once melted, add minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, and parsley. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Combine and Serve: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat well in the garlic herb butter. If using, drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and toss again.
- Plate the Dish: Serve the juicy steak bites alongside a generous scoop of cheesy mashed potatoes.
