Ingredients

  • 1 package King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 rolls)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 4 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and egg. Use a hand mixer or whisk to beat the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in the crushed pineapple and shredded coconut into the cheesecake mixture until fully incorporated.
  4. Take the package of King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and cut a rectangular opening on the top of each roll, creating a pocket. Be careful not to cut all the way through.
  5. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, spaced slightly apart.
  6. Spoon the cheesecake mixture into the pockets of each roll, filling them generously but avoiding overflow. If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans on top of each filled roll for added crunch.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheesecake filling is set.
  8. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  9. Dust the warm Danish with powdered sugar before serving for an added touch of sweetness.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve warm and consider adding extra coconut or fresh pineapple for garnish.
