Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon zest of
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 serving Grated Parmesan cheese (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  3. Add the trimmed asparagus to the bowl and toss until the asparagus is evenly coated with the lemon-garlic mixture.
  4. Arrange the coated asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy. The exact cooking time may vary based on the thickness of the asparagus.
  6. Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a minute.
  7. Transfer to a serving platter and, if desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for an extra layer of flavor.
