Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole Tasty Family Dish
Ingredients
- 2 packages frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- to taste salt and pepper
- 0.25 cup fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and two-thirds of the mozzarella cheese. Mix in the sautéed spinach and garlic. This will be your filling mixture.
- In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom to prevent sticking.
- Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce, followed by half of the cheese filling mixture, and a third of the remaining marinara sauce.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, cheese mixture, and marinara sauce, finishing with the last third of marinara on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the casserole.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh chopped basil for a burst of color and flavor.
💡 Chef's Notes
