Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 green onions sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • optional sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the pan with the beef. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
  4. Add Vegetables: Add the broccoli florets and sliced red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Combine the Sauces: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables, tossing everything to ensure even coating.
  6. Mix in Noodles: Add the drained noodles to the skillet and gently toss to combine all ingredients, allowing the noodles to soak up the sauce (1-2 minutes).
  7. Garnish and Serve: Stir in the white parts of the green onions. Serve immediately, garnished with the green tops of the green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve in large bowls with chopsticks or a fork. Garnish with a drizzle of sesame oil and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for visual appeal.
