Nutella Rolls with Cream Cheese Delightful Treat
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 0.5 cup Nutella
- 0.25 cup cream cheese, softened
- 0.25 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for cream cheese mixture)
- 0 none Optional toppings: crushed hazelnuts, chocolate drizzle, or whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add the milk gradually until desired consistency is reached.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth any creases. Cut the pastry into rectangles of about 3 inches x 5 inches.
- Spread each rectangle with a layer of Nutella, leaving a small border around the edges. Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture over the Nutella on each rectangle.
- Starting from one edge, roll the rectangle tightly to the other side, sealing the edges with a pinch. Place the rolls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with melted chocolate or top with crushed hazelnuts for an added crunch.
