Philly Cheesesteak Delight Simple and Delicious Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- to taste Salt and black pepper
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
- While the steak is still in the skillet, lay the provolone cheese slices on top. Allow the cheese to melt for a minute.
- Divide the steak mixture evenly among the hoagie rolls, topping each with the sautéed onions and bell peppers.
- If desired, spread a little mayonnaise and drizzle some hot sauce on the inside of the rolls before placing the steak mixture inside.
- Serve immediately, hot and cheesy!
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve the cheesesteaks with a side of crispy potato chips or fries. Consider wrapping each sandwich in parchment paper and tying it up with twine for a rustic look!
