Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 4 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • to taste fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle the garlic powder and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough for added flavor.
  4. Distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Layer the sliced pepperoni over the cheese, followed by a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, making sure the filling stays inside.
  7. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the rolled dough into 1-2 inch thick pieces.
  8. Place the rolled pieces cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with olive oil to give them a golden finish as they bake.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
  12. Serve the pizza rolls warm with a side of pizza sauce for dipping and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
