Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, honey, and fresh thyme (or dried thyme) together until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice each croissant in half horizontally, creating an outer layer and a bottom layer.
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on the bottom half of each croissant.
- Layer 2-3 slices of ham on top of the spread, followed by an ample amount of grated Gruyère cheese.
- Place the top half of the croissant over the filling, pressing down gently to secure.
- Place the assembled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of each croissant with the beaten egg.
- Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. You can cut them in half for easy eating or serve them whole.
