Savory Beef Tips with Gravy Easy and Delicious Dish
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- to taste salt and pepper
- for garnish fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef tips and season with salt and pepper. Sear the beef until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stirring well to incorporate. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and is smooth.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low, then add the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary. Stir to combine and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Return the seared beef tips to the skillet. Cover and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the beef to tenderize further. Stir occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
