Ingredients

  • 500 g ground chicken
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • as needed oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, and chopped parsley.
  2. Add in the egg, paprika, salt, black pepper, cumin, and optional Parmesan cheese. Mix well with your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter, and coat each patty with a thin layer of breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  4. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. To check if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of the mixture in; it should sizzle.
  5. Carefully place the patties in the heated oil, cooking them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, salad, or a fresh bun for a delicious meal.
