Savory Steak Bites and Shrimp in Garlic Butter Glaze
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup soy sauce (low sodium can be used)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
- 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
- to taste salt and black pepper
- for serving cooked white or brown rice
Instructions
- Start by marinating the steak bites. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add the steak cubes and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- After marinating, heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the steak bites in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the skillet. Sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside on a plate. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
- Return the marinated steak to the skillet, and toss it with the shrimp. Cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If you'd like more sauce, feel free to add additional soy sauce or a pinch of sugar for sweetness.
- Serve the savory steak bites and shrimp over a bed of rice. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.
