Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Start by patting the steak cubes dry with paper towels. This helps to achieve a nice sear. Season with salt and pepper generously.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak bites in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to cook them in batches.
  3. Sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and sear for another 2-3 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the time for desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  6. Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet and drizzle with soy sauce. Toss to coat the steak bites in the garlic butter mixture.
  7. Cook for an additional minute, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
