Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon (6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish sesame seeds
  • for serving lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and sesame oil until well combined.
  3. Place the salmon fillets in the center of the sheet pan, and season them with salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange the trimmed asparagus around the salmon on the sheet pan.
  5. Drizzle half of the honey garlic mixture over the salmon and asparagus, making sure everything is well coated.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
  7. While the salmon and asparagus are roasting, you can simmer the remaining honey garlic mixture in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes until it slightly thickens.
  8. Once cooked, remove the sheet pan from the oven. Drizzle the thickened honey garlic sauce over the salmon and asparagus.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for added crunch and flavor.
  10. Serve hot, accompanied by lemon wedges for an extra zing.
