- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
- 0.75 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with the white sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just incorporated; do not overmix.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Dip each ball into the granulated sugar to coat.
- Place the sugar-coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Gently flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass or your hand to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden but the centers look soft and under-baked.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
