Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0 Marinara sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, oregano, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.
  3. Using your hands, mix until well combined. Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and form it into a meatball. Place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining mixture, spacing the meatballs evenly apart.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat your marinara sauce over medium-low heat until warmed through.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Serve the meatballs with the warm marinara sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve the meatballs on a large platter garnished with additional chopped parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Pair it with crusty bread or over spaghetti for a comforting meal.
