Strawberry Pretzel Dessert Salad Delightful and Easy
Ingredients
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 0.75 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup strawberry gelatin powder (not prepared)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups cold water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large ziplock bag, crush the pretzel sticks into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels with melted butter and ¼ cup granulated sugar. Stir until the pretzels are evenly coated.
- Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth. Gradually add in the remaining ½ cup of granulated sugar and the powdered sugar, mixing until everything is well combined.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is fluffy and smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In a separate bowl, stir the strawberry gelatin powder into the boiling water until dissolved. Add the cold water and mix well.
- Pour the sliced strawberries into the gelatin mixture and stir to combine. Pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
- Cover and refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours or until the gelatin is fully set.
- Once set, slice and serve chilled.
