Voodoo Fries Spicy and Cheesy Flavor Explosion
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste salt
- 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- 0.25 cup green onions, chopped
- 0.25 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and scrub the russet potatoes, then cut them into thin fries, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a large bowl, toss the cut fries with vegetable oil, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle this spice mixture over the fries, and toss again to coat.
- Spread the seasoned fries evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the oven. Sprinkle the shredded pepper jack cheese over the hot fries. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the cheese is melting, prepare the zesty sauce by mixing the sour cream, chopped cilantro, and lime juice in a small bowl. Season with a touch of salt, if desired.
- Once the cheese is melted, remove the fries from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve the Voodoo Fries hot, drizzled with the zesty sauce for dipping.
