Chocolate Caramel Dump Cake Simple and Tasty Treat
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup caramel sauce (Store-bought or homemade)
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.5 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 0.5 cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans)
- 0 none Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or cake pan with cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, cocoa powder, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
- Pour the cake batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake batter, allowing it to pool in different spots, creating pockets of sweetness.
- Next, drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the condensed milk layer.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the caramel and condensed milk layers. If desired, add the chopped nuts as well for added crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving. This will help the layers settle.
- Serve warm with a scoop of whipped cream or ice cream on the side for an indulgent treat.
