Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces white chocolate (for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (for smoother chocolate)
  • to taste optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Ensure the strawberries are clean and completely dry. Any moisture will prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Dip Strawberries: Hold a strawberry by the green stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling it to coat evenly. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
  4. Optional Toppings: If you wish to add toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles, do so immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still soft.
  5. Set Chocolate: Place the dipped strawberry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process for all strawberries.
  6. Melt White Chocolate: In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same method as before.
  7. Drizzle: Once melted, use a fork or a piping bag to drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries for an elegant finish.
  8. Chill: Refrigerate the chocolate-covered strawberries for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set.
