Garbage Bread Delight Simple and Flavorful Snack
Ingredients
- 1 loaf focaccia or pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup diced pepperoni
- 1 cup sautéed bell peppers and onions
- 0.5 cup sliced black olives
- 0.5 cup cooked crumbled sausage (optional)
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Roll out the focaccia or pizza dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Aim for about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the dough and sprinkle the garlic powder and Italian seasoning evenly across the surface.
- Evenly spread the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough, followed by the diced pepperoni, sautéed bell peppers and onions, black olives, and crumbled sausage (if using).
- Top the fillings with grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Starting from one edge of the dough, carefully roll it up into a tight log, sealing the edges as you go. Pinch the ends to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- Place the rolled garbage bread seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Use a sharp knife to make several slits on top of the bread for steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Once baked, let it cool for about 5 minutes before slicing it into rounds.
💡 Chef's Notes
