Maple BBQ Hasselback Kielbasa Bites Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb Kielbasa sausage
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- to taste Salt and pepper
- for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped
- optional Skewers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Slice the Kielbasa sausage into 1-inch thick rounds, then make vertical cuts in each round (without cutting all the way through) to create a fan or Hasselback effect.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine into a smooth sauce.
- Place the sliced Kielbasa on the prepared baking tray. Brush or drizzle the sauce generously over each piece, ensuring the sauce gets into the cuts.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, basting the bites halfway through with remaining sauce, or until the edges are crispy and lightly caramelized.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
- Transfer the Kielbasa bites to a serving platter, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color.
- If desired, serve with skewers for easy handling or simply enjoy as is.
