Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

8 ounces steak, thinly sliced (ribeye or sirloin)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color)

1 small onion, thinly sliced

2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Steak: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once heated, add the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until they are softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat and combine with the cooked steak.

Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.

Assemble the Stromboli: Layer the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese evenly over the dough. Then, place the steak and vegetable mixture on top of the cheese, leaving about an inch of space at the edges.

Roll It Up: Using your hands, carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, making sure to keep the filling compact. Pinch the ends to seal and tuck them under slightly to create a neat edge.

Prepare for Baking: Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the stromboli is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Slice: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Slice into pieces and serve warm.

Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
