Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup diced bell peppers (red and green)

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 package (8 count) refrigerated biscuit dough

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell peppers to the skillet, cooking until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.

While the meat mixture cooks, prepare the biscuit topping. Open the package of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters.

In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well.

Pour the sloppy joe mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.

Place the quartered biscuit dough evenly on top of the sloppy joe mixture, then drizzle the butter and cheese mixture over the biscuits.

Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top of the dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.

Let cool for a few minutes before serving, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

                        Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes | Servings: 6-8

                          - Presentation Tips: Serve the bake directly from the dish. For extra flair, offer additional chopped parsley and a side of pickles for guests to customize their plates.
