Ingredients

2 cups shredded cooked chicken

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 package (1 lb) puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface until they are about 1/8 inch thick. Cut each sheet into squares, approximately 4x4 inches in size. You should have about 8 squares per sheet.

Place a generous tablespoon of the chicken and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.

Fold the pastry over to form a triangle or rectangle and press the edges together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative finish and extra security.

Brush the tops of the pastry pillows with the beaten egg for a golden brown color when baked.

Place the pillows on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.

Once out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with extra marinara sauce and garnished with fresh basil leaves.
