Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

4 hero rolls (or hoagie rolls)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, mayonnaise, or ketchup

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until soft, about 5 minutes.

Cook the Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, around 8-10 minutes.

Melt the Cheese: Once the beef is cooked, reduce the heat to low and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture. Allow the cheese to melt for about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine.

Prepare the Rolls: While the cheese is melting, slice the hero rolls open lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Optional: lightly toast them on a separate skillet or in an oven for a couple of minutes.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Once the cheese has melted, use a spatula to scoop the chopped cheese mixture and fill each hero roll generously.

Add Toppings: Add any desired toppings like lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your choice of condiments (mayonnaise, ketchup) to each sandwich.

Serve and Enjoy: Slice the sandwiches in half and serve hot for a deliciously hearty meal!
