Ingredients

1 package (16 oz) frozen pierogi (cheese and potato or your choice)

1 lb turkey sausage, sliced

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it's translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and sliced turkey sausage. Cook until the sausage is browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the frozen pierogi according to package instructions (usually boiling for 3-5 minutes until they float). Drain and set aside.

Once the sausage is cooked, add the heavy cream and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir in the smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Gently fold the cooked pierogi into the creamy sausage mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover the skillet. Let it cook on low for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving.

              Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the skillet directly from the pan for a rustic look or plate individual servings garnished with extra chives and a sprinkle of cheese on top. Optionally, drizzle with a little extra cream for added richness.
