2 large chicken breasts (flattened)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crispiness)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Olive oil for frying

Start by preparing a breading station: place the flour in one shallow dish, the beaten eggs in another, and mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third dish.

    Dredge each flattened chicken breast first in the flour, ensuring it’s coated evenly. Shake off any excess flour.

      Next, dip the chicken into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off before moving to the breadcrumb mixture.

        Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the chicken to create a thick, even coating.

          In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

            Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

              Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the crispy chicken breasts on top of the sauce.

                Spoon additional marinara sauce over each chicken breast and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
