Ingredients

1 cup dulce de leche

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 large egg whites

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Sea salt flakes (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the dulce de leche and vanilla extract. Whisk them together until smooth and well blended. Set aside.

In a separate large bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream using an electric mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip. Fold this cream gently into the dulce de leche mixture until fully combined.

In another bowl, add the egg whites and a pinch of salt, then beat them with a mixer until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. This will create a meringue-like texture.

Gently fold the egg white mixture into the dulce de leche and whipped cream mixture. Be cautious not to deflate the batter; use a gentle folding motion until no streaks remain.

Divide the mousse evenly into serving cups or glasses. Tap gently to remove any air bubbles and smooth the top.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings and a sprinkle of sea salt flakes, if desired.
