Ingredients

6 pork sausages (your choice: spicy or herbed)

4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 cup milk (or heavy cream for richness)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, finely sliced

1 cup beef or vegetable broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return them to the pot.

Mash the Potatoes: Add butter and milk to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

Cook the Sausages: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Onions: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. A little browning adds depth to the flavor.

Make the Gravy: Add the beef or vegetable broth to the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine: Return the sausages to the skillet and coat them in the gravy. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.

Serve: On a plate, serve a generous portion of mashed potatoes, topped with the sausages and drizzled with gravy. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.

                  - Presentation Tips: Use a large spoon to create a small well in the center of the mashed potatoes for visual appeal, then elegantly pour the gravy and sausages into the well, allowing everything to cascade beautifully on the plate.
