2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup warm water (around 110°F)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Cornmeal (for dusting)

Instructions
 

In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy; this indicates the yeast is active.

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and Italian seasoning (if using).

      Pour the activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture.

        Stir until a dough starts to form.

          Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

            Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size.

              Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

                Sprinkle a baking sheet or pizza stone with cornmeal to prevent sticking.

                  Once the dough has risen, punch it down and place it on the prepared surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness, about ¼ inch thick, ensuring it’s even.

                    Transfer the rolled-out dough to the prepared baking sheet/stone.

                      Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings as desired.

                        Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

                          Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
