1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)

Instructions

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

Whisk the mixture together until all the spices are evenly blended and there are no clumps.

Taste the seasoning and adjust according to your preference; add more salt or spices if desired.

Transfer the seasoning mix to an airtight container. Store it in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

To use as a marinade, mix 2-3 tablespoons of the seasoning with juice from one lime and 3 tablespoons of olive oil, then coat your choice of protein or vegetables and grill or sauté until cooked.
