Ingredients

4 hot dogs

4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or whole wheat work great)

4 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeƱos, crispy bacon bits, or avocado

Instructions

Start by preparing your hot dogs. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the hot dogs on the grill, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have grill marks (about 5-7 minutes).

While the hot dogs are grilling, mix the mayonnaise, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl. This will be your spread for the grilled cheese.

After the hot dogs are almost done, take the slices of bread and spread the mayo mixture generously on one side of each slice.

Place a slice of cheese on the unspread side of each slice of bread, followed by a grilled hot dog, and then top with another slice of cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top, spread-side down, so the cheese is in between the two slices of bread.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it. Carefully place the sandwich in the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

Once the first side is golden, add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet, carefully flip the sandwich, and grill the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted (another 3-4 minutes).

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, and then slice it in half for easier handling. Optionally, add any additional toppings you desire, such as jalapeƱos or crispy bacon bits.

                Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 25 mins | Servings: 4

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the grilled cheese hot dogs on a cutting board, cut in half, and secure each half with a toothpick. Pair with a side of crispy fries or a simple salad for a complete meal.
