Ingredients

1 large rustic loaf of bread (like sourdough)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Place the loaf of bread on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, make deep cuts (about 1 inch apart) across the top of the bread, cutting about 3/4 of the way down, creating a “hasselback” style. Be careful not to cut all the way through.

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.

Gently open the cuts in the bread and brush the garlic herb butter mixture generously inside each slice.

Stuff the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly into the cuts, making sure each slice has a good amount of cheese. Then, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the loaf.

Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, ensuring it is well sealed, to prevent it from drying out. Place it on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, carefully remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.

Once out of the oven, let the bread cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, sprinkle some extra chopped parsley on top for garnish.
