Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onion

1 clove garlic, minced

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup pineapple chunks, juice reserved

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped green onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the Hawaiian sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the reserved pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well and let it simmer until the sauce thickens (about 5–7 minutes).

Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the saucepan with the sauce and gently coat them, allowing them to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves and additional pineapple chunks if desired.
