Ingredients

1 cup water

2 tablespoons dried butterfly pea flowers

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based, such as almond or oat milk)

Ice cubes

Lemon or lime slices (for garnish)

Edible flowers (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Make the Tea: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the dried butterfly pea flowers and steep for about 5-10 minutes until the color deepens to a vibrant blue.

Sweeten (Optional): If desired, stir in honey or maple syrup while the tea is still warm to dissolve completely. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

Prepare the Latte: In a glass, fill it halfway with ice cubes. Pour the chilled butterfly pea flower tea over the ice until the glass is about three-quarters full.

Add Milk: Slowly pour the milk over the tea to create a layered effect. You can use a spoon to gently pour the milk down the side of the glass for a more pronounced separation.

Garnish: Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime for a pop of color and a hint of citrus flavor. If using edible flowers, float them on top for an extra touch of elegance.

Stir and Enjoy: Serve with a straw or spoon, and encourage your guests to stir the latte for a beautiful purple hue as the blue tea and white milk mix together.
