Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and black pepper to taste

8 corn tostada shells

1 cup refried beans

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 medium avocado, sliced

1 tomato, diced

1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the flank steak and coat it evenly. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) at room temperature.

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Once hot, grill the marinated flank steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

Prepare the Tostadas: Lightly warm the corn tostada shells in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 1 minute on each side to make them crispy.

Assemble the Tostadas: Spread about 2 tablespoons of refried beans on each tostada shell. Top with a generous amount of sliced carne asada.

Add Toppings: Layer with shredded lettuce, sliced avocado, diced tomato, and crumbled queso fresco.

Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tostadas. Enjoy!
