Ingredients

1 cup water

1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon sugar (for sweetness)

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Make the Choux Pastry: In a medium saucepan, combine water, cubed butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts.

Add Flour: Reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan (about 1-2 minutes).

Incorporate Eggs: Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition until smooth and glossy. You may need to use an electric mixer for this step for easier incorporation.

Pipe the Batter: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer the choux pastry to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe small mounds (about 1.5 inches wide) onto the baking sheet, leaving room between them.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Do not open the oven door during baking to prevent collapsing.

Cool the Pastries: Once baked, turn off the oven and leave the puffs inside for an additional 10 minutes to dry out. Remove and let cool on a wire rack.

Prepare the Cream Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with a hand mixer until soft peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Fill the Cream Puffs: Use a sharp knife to cut a small slit in the side of each cream puff. Alternatively, use a piping tip to create an opening. Fill with whipped cream using a piping bag or spoon.

Dust with Powdered Sugar: Lightly dust the filled cream puffs with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 12 puffs

                      - Presentation Tips: Arrange the cream puffs on a beautiful serving platter. For an extra touch, drizzle with dark chocolate sauce or sprinkle with fresh berries.
