Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/3 cup granulated sugar (adjust for sweetness)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 cup heavy cream

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to macerate, allowing the strawberries to release their juices.

Blend the Strawberries: Once the strawberries have softened, use a fork or potato masher to mash them slightly (leave some chunks for texture) or blend them lightly in a food processor if you prefer a smoother consistency. Set aside.

Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip; you want a fluffy consistency.

Combine the Mixtures: In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Gently fold the whipped cream into this mixture until just combined; do not deflate the whipped cream too much.

Add Strawberries: Gently fold the mashed strawberries into the cream mixture, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout.

Freeze the Ice Cream: Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan or an airtight container. Spread it evenly and smooth the top with a spatula. Cover the container with plastic wrap or a lid, then freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until firm.

Serve: Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy your homemade strawberry delight!
