Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup milk

1 large egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

8 oz mushrooms, sliced

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into oval patties about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Salisbury steaks and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are browned and tender.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well to combine, cooking for an additional minute.

Gradually pour in the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Once the gravy thickens, return the Salisbury steaks to the skillet. Simmer everything together for another 5-10 minutes until the steaks are heated through and the flavors meld.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper as needed.
