- Croissants and Dairy Essentials - For this dish, you need six large croissants. They should be torn into pieces. Fresh croissants work best, but stale ones can also add a nice texture. You will also need two cups of whole milk. This adds creaminess and helps the croissants soak up the egg mixture.

Ingredients

6 large croissants, torn into pieces

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced ham

1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer the torn croissant pieces evenly across the bottom.

Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheddar cheese over the croissants. Then, add the sliced green onions.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients, ensuring that all croissant pieces are soaked.

Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight- this allows the croissants to absorb the egg mixture fully.

The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Remove the plastic wrap and bake the casserole for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and puffed.

Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.

Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
