Ingredients

6 hot dogs

6 slices of bacon

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Bacon: Partially cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it begins to crisp but is still flexible (about 5 minutes). Drain on paper towels.

Cut the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut the pastry into rectangles big enough to wrap around the hot dogs (approximately 4x6 inches).

Assemble: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard and honey on each rectangle of puff pastry. Place a slice of bacon on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Position a hot dog at the edge of the pastry and roll it up tightly, sealing the edges.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush the top of each pigskin-wrapped hot dog with the egg wash and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Bake: Place the wrapped hot dogs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the pigskins from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Cut each in half or serve whole.

                Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 35 min | Servings: 6

                  - Presentation Tips: Arrange the pigskins on a platter and serve with a side of mustard or dipping sauce. Garnish with fresh herbs for an added touch!
