Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Divide the seasoned beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

In the last minute of grilling, place a generous spoonful of marinara sauce on each patty, followed by a handful of mozzarella cheese and slices of pepperoni. Close the grill lid to help melt the cheese.

While the cheese melts, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.

Remove the patties and toasted buns from the grill. Assemble your burger by placing the cheesy patty on the bottom half of the bun.

Top each burger with additional marinara sauce, black olives if using, and fresh basil leaves. Place the top half of the bun on to complete your pizza burger.

                  Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the pizza burgers on a wooden board, garnished with fresh basil and a side of extra marinara sauce for dipping. A side of crispy sweet potato fries would make a great accompaniment!
