Ingredients

1 pound ground sausage (your choice of mild or spicy)

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it is no longer pink, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

Add the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies to the sausage, stirring to combine. Cook for about 2 minutes until heated through.

Lower the heat and stir in the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until the cream cheese is fully melted and incorporated, forming a creamy filling. Remove from heat.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as per package instructions.

Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Top with a small sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.

Roll the crescent dough starting from the wide end towards the point, wrapping it tightly to secure the filling inside.

Arrange the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Optional: Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving for a burst of color and flavor.
