Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup whole milk

1 large egg

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground allspice

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

For the Creamy Gravy:

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon soy sauce (for umami flavor)

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, whole milk, egg, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning to brown all sides, until they are cooked through. Remove the meatballs and set aside on a plate.

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour to create a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

Gradually whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream. Continue to stir until the gravy thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Return the cooked meatballs to the skillet and simmer for another 5 minutes, ensuring they are well coated with the gravy.

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
